Clean-Up and Sanitation Plan

SABAY PARADE is not only a celebration of identity and togetherness — it’s also a commitment to respect the spaces we move through. Our clean-up and sanitation strategy is designed to ensure that we leave the route as beautiful as we found it, if not better.

Before the Parade

• Sanitation teams will be deployed along the entire route with designated clean-up zones mapped in advance.
• Volunteers and marshals will distribute biodegradable trash bags to groups and floats at the assembly area.
• Portable toilets, handwashing stations, and hydration points will be in place before assembly begins.

During the Parade

• Mobile sanitation units will accompany the parade to monitor litter and respond to immediate needs.
• Trash and recycling bins will be clearly marked and placed at intervals along the route.
• Float teams will be responsible for keeping their area clean and packing out any waste.

After the Parade

• A post-event clean-up crew will sweep the route within 2 hours of the parade’s end, in coordination with city sanitation services.
• All portable toilets will be removed and serviced promptly.
• Waste will be sorted into recyclable and non-recyclable materials before final disposal.
• Public spaces such as parks, sidewalks, and amphitheater grounds will be checked and restored to their original state.

Sustainability Commitments

• We encourage all parade participants to bring reusable water bottles and avoid single-use plastics.
• Vendors and partners are asked to use eco-friendly packaging and materials.
• Partnerships with local eco-organizations will ensure responsible waste management and environmental accountability.
